What is the Difference Between a Baseball and Softball Bat

The most noticeable difference is the shape of the barrel. Softball bats have a long parallel barrel where baseball bats have a smaller parallel section and start to taper sooner.

Most Baseball bats are 2 5/8 Inch diameter and Softball bats are 2 1/4 Inch diameter

They have different certifications and a softball bat is not allowed to be used for baseball and vice versa.

Baseball bats range from drop 3 up to drop 12 whereas softball bats generally range from drop 8 up to drop 13.
